Permissions
You decide what it reaches
Connecting an AI assistant to your event data is a decision somebody signs off on. In ExpoGenie, that person stays in control of it.
It cannot write
No create, edit or delete access on any object. The strongest guarantee is the structural one, not the promised one.
Scoped to the events you pick
A key reaches the events you select and no others. Give an assistant one show, or four, never the whole account by default.
Permission by permission
Ten permissions, ticked individually. A finance key can read invoices and nothing else. Change your mind later and the scope updates.
Switch it off in one click
Disable a key, rotate its secret, or delete it outright, from the same screen where you made it.
Your activity log records what changed, who changed it, and what the record looked like before. Your assistant can read that history. It cannot add a line to it.
Setup
A form, a paste, and you are asking questions
Setup happens in ExpoGenie settings, and it does not need a developer. Any admin on your account can do it.
Create an API client
In ExpoGenie, go to Settings, then ExpoGenie REST API. Name the client, choose the events it can reach, tick the permissions it gets, and generate the keys.
Paste it into your assistant
Add the ExpoGenie MCP endpoint api.expogenie.io/mcp to Claude or ChatGPT with the client ID and secret you just generated.
Ask something real
Start with one of the four questions above, and go from there.
Keep the secret somewhere safe, the same as any credential. You can rotate it or switch the client off at any time.
